Roger Vorhauer – Biography 

Born in San Diego, California in 1939, Roger Vorhauer lived on his grandfather’s ranch until the age of eight. His father being a navy man Roger travelled in Latin America and the Caribbean with his parents after WWII. The family finally settled in Virginia where he grew to manhood. After high school, he joined the army and spent nearly three years in Europe having visited England for the first time in 1962. After receiving a honourable discharge and a G.C.M. from the army, he entered the University of Maryland. An honour student throughout he studied fine art and writing, graduating magna cum laude.  

For twenty years, Roger volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America being first a cub master then a scout master and later a unit commissioner. He teaches wilderness survival and emergency preparedness in his home state of Maryland.  

After university, he went to work making high profile costumes, props and sets for films, theatre and television. Some of his clients include Donald Trump, Miss America and President George Bush Sr. He has won many awards for his work. Roger is a painter, sculptor and photographer as well as a writer. He has written several short stories, some historical research projects and a screenplay. In 2002, he met Sue Allan and worked on art projects with her, later writing three historical mystery novels in partnership. Their latest books , Mayflower Maid  and Jamestown Woman are published by domtom Publishing UK.  

Roger is a direct descendant of the legendary Princess Pocahantas of Jamestown fame.
